Classic Black Tie UW Madison Campus Microwedding

Updated: Nov 21, 2020

When meeting with Karl and Amanda for the first time, (via Zoom hello, Covid), they had a cocktail and we're so relaxed, funny, and down-to-earth. I thought to myself, "These people are awesome," and every moment I spent with them up to their wedding planning and the big day proved that point. They are just great people, have great love and respect for one another, and are funny to boot. Those people you just like to be around? These are those people.

Now, of course their day came with a few (ok, several) changes in plans. Their reception changed (a few times!), in fact, their whole day looked nothing like what they had originally thought about when first envisioning their wedding day. But you know what? It. Was. Perfect. It was intimate, full of love, and they were surrounded by the people who love them.

The Wisconsin Historical Society was the perfect backdrop with its stately white stone pillars and grand staircase. The intimate wedding, with less than 25 guests, was like a sparkling ornament on a Christmas tree.

Their wedding made the venue even more classy and gorgeous than it already is. The men's navy black tuxedos against the pale blue chiffon bridesmaids' dresses provided a clean and classic color palate worthy of any Pinterest board.

The details were lovely and personal including a photo of grandparents, heirloom pearls, and a globe to represent Karl & Amanda's love of travelling, which hopefully, they will get to resume soon!

I can't say enough good praises about the people they are, the love they have, the beautiful day they planned, and how much I'm looking forward to documenting their big celebration come May 2021! Cheers!
